This is an absurdist take on one woman’s animalistic fantasy during a catering shift from hell.
About the Director
Chala Hunter is originally from Saskatoon, SK, and is a bilingual (french) writer, director, actor and producer, and graduate of the acting program at the National Theatre School of Canada. She has performed in theatres across Canada, and has been nominated for both a Dora and a Meta for her work onstage. She produced and starred in Claudia Dey’s inaugral play Beaver to critical acclaim. She was the assistant director on Salvatore Antonio’s play Sheets at The Theatre Centre and to Mitchell Cushman on Jerusalem, starring Kim Coats, which played to sold out audiences at Crow’s Theatre.
Her first short film, Moon Dog, starring Martha Burns and Alice Snaden was made with the support of the 2018 Toronto Actra Women’s Committee Toolkit Initiative, and screened at The Canadian Film Festival 2019, as well as the NSI Online Film Festival.
She is currently working as the writing assistant on season two of Global TV’s show Nurses, and is in post-production for another short, is writing a ten-part digital series called “Little Animals” with Amy Keating, and working on a feature, about haunting.
