From the visionary Creative Director of The Lost Tribe in Trinidad and Tobago, LAVWAY is an experimental film based on traditions of Trinidad’s unique Carnival. The film harnesses the energy of the mas and is a rousing ode to the origins and rituals of the festival; awash in mysticism, vibrant colour and pulsating soca music.
About the Director:
Ryan Gibbons has always been passionate about his craft, honing his skills over the past fifteen years primarily as a cinematographer working on commercials, corporate features and music videos all over the English speaking Caribbean. In his own words he states, “I love being behind a camera and that ability to capture beautiful imagery; that gets me excited to wake up and do this every day.” In recent years Ryan has been exploring his skills as a director on various projects. In 2020, Ryan helmed the massively successful One Yard Caribbean Virtual Concert paving the way for his feature film directorial debut with Lavway.
