Deep End is a coming of age story about a young Indian woman, living in Durban where sticking to culture and tradition comes crashing up against wanting to be a part of the bigger world. Sunitha Patel has lived her ‘daddy’s’ dream all her life and now wants to find her own way in the world, even if it means making waves in her society. Through her desire to become a surfer, she gets into conflict with her father who has different visions for her future. But by finding herself on her surfboard, she finds love and even herself.


Jacintha de Nobrega – Producer
Jacintha is a graduate of the prestigious Los Angeles Film School (LAFS) where she received a scholarship to attend the Feature Film Development Program. After graduating from LAFS she worked in Los Angeles in a talent agency and later for a production company focusing on international distribution. Her seven years in Hollywood’s eco-system has given her a valuable inside look at the industry.

In South Africa she’s worked, as an executive producer for E-TV, headed CVET a community-based film school in Cape Town, and created a weekly entertainment magazine show called Rush for E-TV. In 2016 she opened Arclight Productions in Durban, with a strategy to produce her own content in both television and film. In 2017 her company produced Deep End a coming of age film set in Durban. In 2018 she produced Siba’s Adventures a TV series for Food Network featuring renowned TV Chef 

Siba Mtongana. She is currently developing two television shows and a feature film. 

Jacintha is a dynamic, creative and passionate person with an excellent ability to influence and lead. Her vision is to create a sustainable industry with new opportunities for the youth in Kwa-Zulu Natal who have aspirations to be a filmmaker.


Eubulus Timothy – Director
Eubulus is an award-winning writer, director and producer of film and television. In Hollywood he won the prestigious Harley-Merrill Screenwriting Award. He was the founding Chairperson of the Durban Filmmakers Guild, representing filmmakers in Durban and the greater KwaZulu Natal. He trained as a director under Randy Zisk (Monk, Desperate Housewives) and Allan Arkush (Crossing Jordan, Heroes,). He has a Diploma in Directing and Cinematography from the Los Angeles City College Film School. At Los Angeles City College, Theater Academy he developed the Acting for the Camera course. Famous Alumni of the Theater Academy include Oscar winners Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Alan Arkin.
